Hi, I'm Marnie.
I started Petal & Press in 2019 with a market stall in the Norwich Lanes and a stubborn belief that flowers should be seasonal, local, and nothing like the petrol-station bunch.
These days it's a two-person studio just off Pottergate — but the idea hasn't changed. We buy from Norfolk growers, tie everything by hand, and deliver it across the city the same day.
From a trestle table to the Lanes.
Before flowers, Marnie spent ten years behind a desk in London. A weekend course in natural, British-grown floristry turned into a Saturday stall, which turned into leaving the job, which turned into moving home to Norfolk.
Norwich made sense straight away. The Lanes are full of small makers who do one thing properly, and Norfolk has some of the best cut-flower growers in the country an easy drive away. We could buy stems that were in a bucket within hours of being cut — and you can tell, because they last.
We've stayed deliberately small. Keeping it to a couple of pairs of hands means we know where every flower came from, we can make each bunch properly, and we can still get it to you the day you order.

A few years in the making.

A stall in the Lanes
We started with a trestle table at the Norwich Lanes market, selling whatever the growers had cut that week.
- 2021
The Pottergate workshop
Demand outgrew the stall, so we took on a small workshop just off Pottergate — still where every bunch is tied today.

Same-day, citywide
We built proper delivery rounds across Norwich and the NR postcodes, with live slots so nothing ever oversells.

Still small, on purpose
A two-person studio turning out a few dozen hand-tied bunches a day. Small enough to care, local enough to be quick.
How we do things.

Seasonal, always
We only buy what's being cut now. If it's not in season in Norfolk, you won't find it on the bench — which is exactly why it lasts.

Local before anything
Our stems come from a handful of growers we know by name, mostly within an hour of the city. Fresher flowers, money that stays in Norfolk.

Made by hand, by us
No assembly line, no two bunches alike. Every order is hand-tied in the Pottergate workshop the morning it goes out.

Kind to the bin
No floral foam, no single-use plastic. Wraps are paper or returnable, and the off-cuts go to the compost down the road.
